Purpose (target audience etc) - I am wanting to create a story that is interesting, yet fun to read. I want it to be one of those stories where you just have to keep reading to the end. I don't want to have a set target audience as I want a wide range of users to be able to find it interesting, but it will mainly be aimed at an age band of 15-25.
Theme -
The story is going to be set on the Isle of Wight, 3 days after a massive storm.
Back story - The Island has been at peace for years. No storms, no rain, just sun. However, nothing stays perfect forever. Warnings have been put in place regarding a horrendous storm that is due to pass straight through the Island on its course. Quite a few people manage to escape, but the storm hit sooner than anyone knew. The storm caused severe damaged, and left on man in the water that was presumed dead.
Premise - 'What if for one second, you put someone else's safety before your own? What would the outcome be?'
Characters - One main character. One other character.
Main character - Jamie.
Jamie is a 25 year old man who lives on the Isle of Wight by himself. He owns his own plumbing business and has done well for himself.
Other character - Ella
Ella is a 45 year old woman who also lives by herself. She has not had a very good life and has no family or friends around to help.
Main Ideas -
'3 days after the first storm. Man washed up on beach. Other survivors in hiding. Man walks around trying to find other survivors. Hears a loud noise and runs toward the noise. Finds a cell phone on the ground with no signal. 2 options:
1) Runs to high ground to try and get some signal to call for help. Manages to reach help until a tornado comes racing towards him, drops the phone and starts running. The tornado leaves the island in silence once more.
2) Decided to try and find the source of the noise. Takes the phone with him. Find a lady trapped under a tree, attempts to help her and sets her free. They both try to find signal for the phone but it dies. Ends with them searching for other survivors.
Moral of the story, think of other people's safety first.

Jamie is the man who gets washed up on the beach. He didn't listen to the warnings about the storm as he just thought it couldn't possibly happen. The day the storm hit, he was off out ready to work. He was unaware of the sudden gusts of strong winds around him. As he notices the strange weather, he attempts to run back to his van, until a tire hurdling towards him knocks him out cold.
Ella is the woman who gets trapped underneath a tree. She has been very ill for the past few months and doesn't spend any time out of her living room. She doesn't watch TV, doesn't listen to the radio, just sits and stares into the darkness. Due to her not listening to any broadcast, she in unaware of the approaching storm. Upon hearing an ear piercing sound from outside her front door, she forces herself onto her feet to take a look. Slowly turning the handle, she is shocked by her surprise. Ella looks out into a world of devastation. Speechless, she steps out into the open, only to be greeted by a large tree being hurtled towards her, trapping her against her home.
